Everyone who tries their best! Yes, you've read me right. Check out our few tips and tricks for being a good tutor!
1. Know your subject
We are very well aware that one can't simply know everything.
That doesn't mean that you can't prep yourself and try your hardest to - at least not make some crucial mistakes on the very basics of the subject. So check yourself before you wreck your reputation.
2. Be a punctual person
You hate to wait on others? Well so does everyone else! Just be on time or even better, a few minutes ahead of schedule, when it comes to tutoring (and life).
3. Relay the material in a relaxed manner
The day might have been tough, but that is no excuse to stress out your students.
Believe it or not, tutors who manage to relay the message in a relaxed manner, have more satisfied students and with it, more clients (since a good word travels quickly).
4. Be organized
This is for your own good. Just use a calendar, keep records of the classes, your timetable and what part of the material you have covered. That way, you won't go insane in the midst of your own chaos and it will have a positive impact on your students (and nosy parents).
And that my friends, is the gist of tutoring. Sure, you'll need some more tips and tricks to continue to excel in the field, but your success would always depend on these four little (and very achievable) pillars.
